Tax service

Crypto tax consultation. Start with your question.

Discuss your crypto activity, reporting questions, and next steps with Nancy Landry, CPA.

A focused discussion of your circumstances

A general guide can explain a rule, but your transaction history determines which facts need attention. You might be comparing a Form 1099-DA with a software report, reviewing an acquisition with incomplete records, or preparing for a tax return involving several platforms.

Describe the question you want answered and the tax year involved. Nancy will confirm whether a consultation is suitable and what information is needed. Complex record reconstruction or return preparation may need a separate engagement.

  • Questions about the records supporting a reported crypto transaction
  • Differences between a broker statement and a crypto tax report
  • Missing acquisition history or uncertainty about cost basis
  • How to prepare for an individual tax return involving crypto
  • Which additional records or professional work your situation may require

Make the question concrete

Write a short description of what happened: the asset, the platforms involved, the approximate dates, and the document or result that concerns you. Explain whether you are asking about an upcoming return or a return already filed.

Keep the original statement or export and note which lines prompted the question. You do not need to send those files in the first message. First agree how relevant records should be shared.

Agree the outcome before the discussion

The scope sets the question to be considered, the records to be reviewed, the fee, timing, and any agreed follow-up. A useful outcome identifies the relevant facts, explains the question within that scope, and makes the next step clear.

A consultation does not automatically include a full transaction reconciliation, a prepared return, an amended return, or representation before the IRS. If further work is needed, it is discussed before a new scope begins.

Common questions

Can you review a question about Form 1099-DA?

Describe the reporting year, broker, and discrepancy you noticed. Nancy will confirm the documents and scope needed for the consultation.

Will the consultation include preparing my return?

Only if that work is separately agreed. A consultation and tax return preparation are different services.

Can I ask about a return I already filed?

Yes, describe the year and the concern. Reviewing the issue does not automatically include preparing an amended return or contacting the IRS.

What does a consultation cost?

The fee is agreed after the requested question and scope are understood. No fixed price or free consultation is promised on this website.
